Privacy Policy

SmartHerCents ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit smarthercents.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We keep this as plain and jargon-free as everything else on this site.

1. Who we are

SmartHerCents is a personal blog and content site. Full business identification is available in our Legal Notice. You can reach us at info@smarthercents.com with any privacy question.

2. What information we collect

• Information you give us directly — your email address, if you sign up for a free printable or our newsletter through one of our forms.
• Information collected automatically — basic technical data such as browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring site, gathered through standard analytics and hosting logs.
• Cookies — small files used for basic site functioning and, if enabled, anonymous analytics. See Section 6 below.

We do not collect financial account information, government ID numbers, or any sensitive personal data through this site.

3. How we use your information

• To send the free printable or resource you requested, and occasional related emails (you can unsubscribe anytime, in every email).
• To understand which content is useful to readers, so we can write more of what actually helps.
• To maintain the security and performance of the site.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.

4. Third-party services we use

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run this site:

• Email delivery — our email newsletter and freebie delivery are handled by a third-party email marketing platform, which processes your email address under its own privacy policy.
• Hosting & security — the site is hosted and served through Cloudflare, which may process technical/connection data (like IP address) as part of standard web delivery.
• Fonts — typography is loaded from Google Fonts, which may log basic request data (like IP address) as part of serving font files.
• Analytics — we use Google Analytics, delivered through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, general location, device/browser type, and similar traffic patterns). We use Google Consent Mode: Google's tag loads on every visit, and the default depends on the country you're visiting from, which Google determines from your IP address. If you're in the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics cookies are only set if you click "Accept" in our cookie banner. Everywhere else, analytics cookies are on by default unless you click "Reject." An explicit choice is always respected, wherever you are, and advertising-related storage stays off until you click "Accept." When analytics cookies are off, Google Analytics receives only cookieless, anonymous signals (such as a page view, browser type, and approximate location) that can't be used to recognize you across visits. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can change your choice anytime through the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer, or opt out completely using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Affiliate & shop links — some links on this site go to third-party retailers or marketplaces (see our Affiliate Disclosure). Once you click through, that retailer's own privacy policy applies.

5. Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or UK, under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email info@smarthercents.com.

If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in that regard.

6. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use a small number needed for the site to function, plus Google Analytics cookies to understand traffic patterns. In the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland these are only set if you accept them in our cookie banner; elsewhere they're set unless you reject them (see Section 4). You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time, or use the Google Analytics opt-out linked above; the site will still work, though some features (like remembering a form submission) may not.

7. Children's privacy

SmartHerCents is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep email addresses collected through our forms for as long as you remain subscribed, or until you ask us to delete them. Technical/log data is retained only as long as needed for security and performance purposes.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
